All to play for

So who’s going up and who’s going down? In division one at least the last weekend of the season promises to be a nail biter.

After last weekend’s victory over Neyland, Carew are now Haverfordwest’s new best friends and at the other end, thanks to Daniel Sutton’s heroics in leading Johnston to an unlikely win over Cresselly, the Tigers have it all to play for against Narberth.

Whoever wins that stay up, whoever loses goes down. It’s that simple.

Haverfordwest meanwhile go to Lawrenny while up the road, Neyland fight it out at Cresselly. Neyland won’t give it up without a fight but you would have to have your money on the Town even though their only two points clear.

In division two Kilgetty and Pembroke will battle it out as to who goes up as champions. If Kilgetty do it will be a remarkable result considering they started the season on minus 30 points.

Neither side has been with the big boys for over ten years so their return will be a welcome one.

At the other end of the table, Hook may have some successful junior sides going but their senior side struggled this year and they’ll go down to division three with Cresselly seconds joining them.

Who will come up from the third division? Well Saundersfoot are already champions (another team to start with minus 30 points) and Llechryd are in second. They’ll probably join them but Neyland seconds and Lamphey have an outside chance of doing so also.

Meanwhile the division says farewell to Crymych and Hook seconds for now.

If you play in division four then lucky you, playing at Crymych is a joy.

As for division four, Johnston seconds are champions with Llanrhian seconds going up despite their firsts suffering contrasting emotions after being relegated from division one.

Carew thirds move down a division and Narberth seconds will most probably join them however they are only 15 points behind Pembroke seconds so who knows?

And in division five? Well, Robbie Thomas and co will be celebrating long into the night at Tish after their second go up as champions yet Kilgetty seconds and Stackpole seconds will battle it out for who joins them.

Kilgetty seconds are 15 points in credit and promotion should be theirs but stranger things have happened in cricket and nowhere was that better demonstrated than at Johnston last week.

Sutton, you will not be surprised to read, makes the penultimate team of the week.

Team of the week
